Where exactly is HelicopterAcademy.com?

We are located on North Perry Airport in Pembroke Pines, Florida.   Take Exit 49 from the Turnpike and head West or Take exit 20 (Hollywood Blvd) and head West from I-95.   The physical street address for your GPS is 603 SW 77th Way, Pembroke Pines, FL 33023.  After making an appointment your Navigation should take you to our community parking lot and walk through the gate to the first patio table under the awning to greet your instructor.  Click Here

What days and times are available for booking an Introductory Flight Lesson?

HelicopterAcademy.com  operates 7 days per week (weather permitting). Flight lesson times begin as early as 8:00 AM with the last session starting at 4:00 PM. Please keep in mind that as the season changes and the sun sets earlier – we will need to revise the later time slots.

What should I wear?

Simple answer – whatever you’re comfortable wearing. Just keep in mind you’ll be outside some of the time and climbing into and out of a helicopter, so short skirts and heels are not recommended for ladies.  Click Here

Can I bring my family and friends?

Of course – who better to share your helicopter experience? We invite you to bring your friends and they can sign up to take lessons also.   The helicopter accommodates the instructor pilot and one person:  you.   Click Here

How long is the flight portion of the Discovery Flight Experience?

You can expect to be in the helicopter for approximately 60 minutes. If you would like to extend your flight please let us know when making your reservation and we’ll be happy to accommodate you.  Click Here

Can I extend my flight time?

Yes! Most people enjoy flying the helicopter so much they want to keep going. When making your reservation please let us know about any flight time extensions so we can accommodate you. An extra charge will apply to additional flight time.  Click Here

Where will I fly to?

Our headquarters are centrally located to the Miami and Ft. Lauderdale areas, so instructors generally maintain a course lesson within this vicinity. If you have somewhere in particular you’d like to fly over, please let instructor pilot know when you meet him. Click Here

How safe is the helicopter?

Your safety is our primary goal.  We pride ourselves on a good safety record.   All of our helicopters carry insurance, proper FAA certification, and are meticulously maintained by our experienced in-house maintenance staff.  Click Here

How much experience does my instructor have?

All of our instructors have logged many hours in rotorcraft flight. Each has undergone rigorous training and is always available to provide information and guidance. What if it rains?

Rain, wind, thunder and lightning . . . oh my! Unfortunately the weather in South Florida  is completely out of our control, but we will make every effort to complete your flight in accordance with flight safety weather guidelines. Don’t worry about the 10-day forecast. We receive special aviation radar reports every 12 hours to provide the most accurate outlook on flying conditions possible, and we won’t reschedule your reservation until the day of your flight.

What if I exceed the 235  lbs. weight limit?

Not to worry. For our more powerfully built students we offer the solution of upgrading to our Robinson R44 for an additional charge. This helicopter was designed to carry more weight and offers a roomier seat and more comfortable controls. Please discuss any needs you may have when making your reservation.  Click Here

What is your cancellation policy?

Coupon holders cancelling or rescheduling for any reason in less than 48 hours will forfeit their Coupon.  We reserve the right to charge a $50 rescheduling fee.   Click Here
